The long (expensive) road to become a doctor is intimidating enough as it is. Years of schooling, extensive tests, long hours spent interning, not to mention serious sleep deprivation and student loans; those challenges are enough to give pause to even the the most determined aspiring M.D. Then there’s Anna. When faced with infertility issues that would most likely prevent her from conceiving years down the road, she and her husband John decided that they needed to get pregnant right away, even though she was enrolled in medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. While beginning a family under those circumstances may have been daunting, you can see from these beautiful portraits by Julie Napear Photography that Anna and John are overjoyed to now have a daughter. Anna shared more about their journey in a frank yet poignant opinion piece for the New York Times, and she continues to blog as their family grows (!) at Anna in Med School. What an inspiring story, complemented by a gorgeous family portrait session.
