Tracking down the perfect wedding venue to say your “I dos” is a challenge for most brides, but Jennifer defied the odds. The Hermitage was the first place I visited in person after doing lots of research online,” she shares. “I fell in love with it immediately and knew that I didn’t need to see anywhere else!” All it takes is a quick look at the fabulous photographs that the very talented Keith Cephus Photography captured on the big day to see that the bride’s gut instinct was spot on. With a red brick foundation, a beautiful courtyard and plentiful gardens, we don’t think that any other place on earth but The Hermitage Museum & Gardens could have suited their rustic Virginia wedding better. Even the rain didn’t put a damper on the good times or the stunning aesthetic that Jennifer and David put together for their one-of-a-kind celebration. As guests drove up they were greeted by a DIY rustic sign that presented directions to the ceremony and reception, while giving a nod to both the bride and groom’s roots. She hails from España, as the sign reads in Spanish, and he is an Ohio native – they included the mileage from the site of their Virginia wedding to both Spain and his hometown. It was definitely an incredible and creative way to showcase the merging of two families! As the day went on and friends and family gathered for the outdoor reception, a light rain began to fall. Without batting an eye, umbrellas were popped and the smiles continued from the wedding entourage’s entry and trip down the aisle, to the newlywed’s grand finale kiss. Who could even notice the inclement weather when so many gorgeous decor details were stealing the show? Focusing on making sure everyone had a great time during their day, the bride and groom skipped unnecessary details and put all their energy into throwing a party with Antonia Christianson Events that would make them and their guests happy. We’d say the homemade sangria and beer, the personalized mason jar favors with burlap name tags, the delicious dinner from Sweetwater Cuisine and the fabulous orange ombre wedding cake by Salina Oxford Cakes did just the trick. We don’t know about you, but we certainly didn’t spot an unhappy face in this wedding crowd. We bet you’ll smile too when you take a gander at all the eye candy and inspiration pieces that made this day complete, so go on and have a look!
Thanks Keith Cephus Photography for putting a smile on our faces today!
