If you’ve ever doubted that a DIY wedding could be as pretty as one of its professionally-styled counterparts, then you only need look at this gorgeous backyard soiree by Leif Brandt Photography to know that nothing could be further from the truth. Don’t get us wrong, our favorite wedding pros will always make our hearts melt with their amazing designs. But there is just something so intimate and personal about a DIY wedding that we can’t resist. Here in Ashley and Gavin’s wedding, we were instantly struck by the many ways that they and their families pulled together a day that was a total vintage dream. From eclectic porcelain teacups and china to the lace doilies, everything they chose as decor was a perfect accent to the carefree backyard backdrop (the bride’s grandparent’s cozy, backyard, in fact!). Beyond those two stylish choices, this stunning California wedding day solidified its hold on us with the trees full of DIY chalkboard signs, featuring fun love quotes. and the beautiful bridal bouquet full of peonies and fabulous greenery. However, only one characteristic from this day could far outweigh all the great wedding details we’ve mentioned so far — the radiant bride, Ashley. Wearing retro-inspired mint green heels and one of the most unforgettable lace wedding gowns we’ve ever seen, she wast truly of vision of loveliness. And don’t even get us started on how she glowed in every portrait with her spouse-to-be, Gavin, that was captured throughout their sweet soiree. Like we said, we have a tendency to find ourselves captivated by the uniqueness of DIY weddings. This one went even further than that — it ran away with our hearts too!
We could swoon over these gorgeous details for days — Thank you Leif Brandt Photography for sharing!
