What makes a wedding southern, other than it’s location, is sometimes hard to pin down. Perhaps it’s the presence of cowboy boots and rustic details. Maybe it’s the incorporation of a barn ceremony or reception. Or maybe it’s something to do with the friendly, welcoming spirit of “southern hospitality.” Whatever it is, there’s no doubting that this cozy fall Georgia wedding from Andie Freeman Photography is as southern as it gets… from a boot-clad bride and groom to a hefty helping of that world-famous southern hospitality. Taking place at the unique Barn on Belmont venue in Athens, Georgia, Sarah and Terry’s day shines with lots of rustic decor and cozy comforts. The wedding began with a sweet outdoor ceremony beside the historic barn (with a roof emblazoned with the University of Georgia’s famous football emblem, of course). As guests arrived, DIY signs pointed them in the right direction and thanked them for their presence and beautiful old quilts were passed out to warm guests as the couple exchanged vows outdoors on the crisp fall day. The reception that was hosted inside the barn featured a snuggly and warm environment thanks to a fire burning in the barn’s old fireplace. Around the room, rustic decor, such as burlap runners and mason jars filled with wheat stalks, really complemented the location and showed off the couple’s amazing country style. And, to top it all off, Sarah and Terry surprised guests with a lovely wedding cake station, featuring their favorite homemade recipes! Sarah and Terry’s every care to add sweet, personal touches and create an inviting atmosphere really paid off, and we have no doubts that friends and family had the time of their lives celebrating this couple’s stunning big day!
We’re so head over heels for all the cozy and cute ideas the couple incorporated throughout their fall wedding celebration!
