Real Wedding: Dancing the Night Away Under Alabama Skies

“You’ll be my honeysuckle. I’ll be your honey bee,” sings dimple-cheeked country star, Blake Shelton, in his adorable hit song “Honey Bee.” Skipping all the fluff and jumping right to the heart of what it means to be someone’s partner, best friend and lifelong love, this smile-inducing song has been charming couples since it hit the radio waves. But, for the couple shared here by Wes Roberts Photography, the song became more than just a catchy tune — it was the source of inspiration for their rustic wedding day! Set at a beautiful farm home and barn in Alabama, Dan and Jennifer’s big day mirrors the song’s simplicity and laid back approach to enjoying love. Exchanging vows underneath an old tree on the farm, the bride and groom kicked off their stylish day with a ceremony accented by deep red and orange florals, hay bales and DIY wooden signs. After the intimate, emotion-filled ceremony, it was off to the barn for a fun, down-home style reception. With the help of Le Rae Events and Design, the barn was transformed into a perfect backdrop for their casual celebration. Bringing in a nice pop of color, purple and white bunting banners were hung from the ceiling, and beautiful fall pumpkins were used for decor wherever possible. Guests had their fill of the scrumptious mini-pies that were piled high on the dessert table while enjoying quotes from “Honey Bee” displayed around the room. But that wasn’t all — the couple personalized their day even further by passing out jars filled with fresh honey as favors, and greeting guests with warm cups of cider and coffee as they entered the reception. To top it all off, the DJ kept the country favorites playing from sunset to send-off, which, we must say, was definitely the most fitting way to end this country music-inspired affair.
