When Rebekah Dotson Photography sent over this California soiree, she shared, “Kim and Ryan’s story reads like a modern-day fairytale. They were born in the same hospital hours apart, and met when they were both ten years-old and next door neighbors. In high school they started dating, quickly fell in love, and have been together ever since…” Her words undoubtedly tugged on our heartstrings right away, and had us wondering if their fairytale romance would also promise us a fairytale wedding. It didn’t take us more than a few seconds of browsing through the stunning images that Rebekah Dotson Photography shared before we had our answer — an unquestionable “yes!” Set among acres of old California redwood trees nestled on the landscape of the private Maison Du Lac in Los Gatos, Kim and Ryan’s vintage and rustic-inspired celebration overflowed with endlessly pretty details. Carrying a casually-arranged bouquet full of pastel florals, the bride looked like a dream in a lace-bodice illusion gown and floral crown. THe couple took a non-traditional approach to the bridesmaids’ attire by having each maid wear mismatched, cocktail-length white dresses. The groom and groomsmen went a slightly more typical route, dressed in coordinating charcoal grey suits, suspenders and black ties. Taking full advantage of their scenic surrounding, Kim and Ryan married outdoors, with the redwood trees filling the backdrop. Following their sweet vow exchange, which moved many, including the groom, to tears, the lovebirds invited their friends and family to join them for their outdoor reception. As with the ceremony, the couple did not hesitate to incorporate their lovely setting in as many ways as they possibly could. The couple’s guestbook table set under a beautiful redwood, decorated with a clothesline-style photo display of the couple. In lieu of a traditional book, the couple had guests type out notes and wishes for their future on a vintage typewriter. The long, family-style reception tables — accented with more pastel florals and wooden table numbers — were equally as gorgeous and captivating for their guests and really helped set a tone of intimacy and lightheartedness for all the laughing, dancing, and dessert-eating that filled the rest of their day!
