Real Wedding: Wanderlust Wedding

After a proposal in India, this wanderlust-filled couple had a whirlwind Toronto wedding, complete with Chinese tea ceremonies, Captured by Lisa Mark Photography

Michelle & Steven met in 2007 at the beginning of their medical studies in Toronto, which is also where they held their wedding. Six years later, on a whirlwind trip to India, Steven popped the question once they were settled into their Darjeeling hotel. He persuaded Michelle to go outside to look at the stars, where the hotel staff had set up a table, complete with candles, on a little path. He broke into song, and finished on one knee, asking for Michelle’s hand in marriage! Lisa Mark Photography had the honors of capturing this incredible couple on their wedding day in Toronto. They had quite an eventful day, starting with some wedding party shenanigans, two Chinese tea ceremonies, and some resplendent couples portraits in the Shangri-La Hotel lobby – and all of this happened before the sweet couple exchanged vows! Everyone gathered at the University of Toronto’s Trinity College Chapel to witness Michelle walk down the aisle to her groom. After saying “I do,” Lisa Mark Photography led the wedding party to St. Michael’s College for some gorgeous couple’s portraits, as well as some great group shots. Finally, everyone traveled to St. Lawrence Hall for a wanderlust-themed reception, where the guests signed a globe rather than a guest book, played fun games, and traditional Chinese table toasting. Michelle & Steven had a fabulous day, and the perfect photos to go along with it!
