And just like that, 2018 is coming to a close! It’s the time of the year to put up your feet, set those out of office email replies, and cozy up with a warm beverage. It’s been a busy year over at Two Bright Lights, so we’ve rounded up some of our favorite tips. While you’re taking some well earned time to rest, use these resources to jumpstart the new year.
It might feel like we’ve been talking about this a lot lately, but it’s because we’re really excited about this new feature. And you should be too! Select editors will be able to search photos that have been opted in, and will come to you to request to publish your work, flipping the submission process on its head. Not only will this save you time, but it also means that you have the opportunity to get published even when you’re too busy to submit. Getting published just got a lot faster and efficient!
When you get published, let everyone involved with your shoot or event know so that they can share the feature in their social media and marketing as well. This includes your clients, the wedding party, and all of your fellow professionals. The more collaborators involved, the bigger the reach will be.
Speaking of sharing, we rounded up some tips on how to use social media to its full potential for your business. Be sure to post content that is relevant to you and your business on platforms that make sense for your audience, and always optimize your posts with hashtags, locations, and tags.
We’re never not looking for ways to be more productive during the work day. As much as we love all things social media, it can be helpful to put it on pause to make sure you stay focused. Make lists, check off the small tasks, and prioritize what needs to get done in a realistic way. And, of course, make time for yourself so that you can be well rested and clear-headed to get your work done.
With the new year comes a great opportunity to change up your submission strategy! Make sure you’re getting your work to the right places. Keep a list of goal publications, use non-exclusive publications to their full potential, and make submission requests your best friend. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our monthly round-up of editor’s requests to get a leg up on your submissions!
