It’s official, you’ve been published. Congratulations! Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, it’s always exciting and worth celebrating. It’s also one of the best ways to reach new clients and show off your hard work. But what’s the best way to start bragging about your accomplishments? We’ve broken it down into a few easy places to start spreading the word about your publishing successes.

Start with some emails

Remember how excited you were to receive the “you’ve been published” email in your inbox? Your featured clients will be just as excited to know that their shoot was picked up by an editor. And guess what? Your clients are going to want to share their feature with everyone they know too -- you went above and beyond by getting their special event featured in a publication. When your clients share the feature, think of how many new eyes will see it and who might be in the market for a similar service. It’s practically a free targeted ad!

Contact all the vendors you worked with on the event/shoot

It’s a good idea to share your published feature with everyone that worked on the event and made it come to life. While they can be notified directly via Two Bright Lights, it never hurts to share a personal note about how excited you are to see the final product. They’ll be able to share the news with their network of clients and colleagues, and it’s always a good idea to celebrate your fellow creatives!

Build some bragging into your Client Experience

It’s advantageous to build getting published into your client experience. To potential clients, it’s a huge credibility booster to be able to show where your work has been featured, and to offer the possibility that they might also be featured in the future. For clients that are already booked, imagine what a bonus it is to their experience with you when their special day has been published!

Share! On! Social! Media!

This is a no-braineryou put together an amazing submission that was selected for publication, so of course, you should tell the world. We love to celebrate our users published features, and have broken down different social media tips time & time again. And for a good reason! Sharing on social media is one of the easiest marketing tactics for your business. When you post about a published feature, be sure to tag all the vendors you worked with, the couple, the couple’s family and/or wedding party and the publication. Your work and business name will once again be showing up on feeds of tons of prospective clients. It’s a win-win!

Add the badge to your website

Do you have a “published” or “as seen in” section on your website? No? Well, you should! This is a great place to share your published work. Once you’ve been published, most publications give you a badge that says you were featured by them. And since you were published through Two Bright Lights, all of your available badges will automatically appear for download in your account. It doesn’t get easier!

Sharing your publishing accomplishments is a marketing strategy that will boost your credibility and your reach. It’s all about working smarter, not harder, so by implementing these steps, you’ll get the most marketing mileage out of each published feature. Time to get out there and start celebrating!
